Privacy Policy

How MipTags™ protects your data · Last updated 9/25/2026

1. Our Privacy-First Promise

MipTags™ is privacy-first by design. We collect only what we need to run the platform, we never sell your personal data, and we never share it with data brokers or advertisers.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information — your name, email address, and password (stored securely, never in plain text) when you register.
  • MipTag content — the profile details, links, photos, and other content you choose to publish on your MipTag pages.
  • Payment information — payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Engagement data — anonymous scan and visit counts on MipTag pages (device type, general location, and source) so owners can see how their Tags perform. This data is not used to track or profile visitors.
  • AI feature data — only if you allow it, the data described in Section 5.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the MipTags platform
  • To process purchases, renewals, and withdrawals
  • To send essential service emails such as receipts, expiry reminders, and security notices
  • To protect the platform through fraud prevention and MipTag Digital Defense™ link scanning
  • To power AI features you have chosen to use, as described in Section 5

4. Search Without Being Followed

Visitors who search for or scan a MipTag are never required to create an account, and we do not build advertising profiles of visitors. You can connect without being tracked across the web.

5. AI Features & Third-Party AI Providers

Some MipTags features use artificial intelligence. To work, they send some of your data to third-party AI providers: OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic. Depending on the task, a request may be handled by any of these providers.

We ask first. Before any AI feature sends your data, MipTags shows a consent screen naming these providers and describing what is sent. Nothing is sent unless you choose "Allow AI Processing". If you choose "Don't Allow", AI features stay off. You can withdraw consent at any time from the AI & Privacy setting in your portal; after that, no further data is sent.

What each feature sends, and how it is collected:

  • AI Marketing Creator — the name and type of the MipTag you select, and the campaign goal you type into the form. Used only to write the campaign ideas you asked for.
  • Setup, Billing & Ad Assistants — the messages you type into the chat, plus the account records the assistant looks up to answer you: your MipTags and tag page settings (Setup Assistant), your orders and plan details (Billing Assistant), your sponsored ads and their impression/click stats (Ad Assistant), and support tickets you open through the assistant. Used only to answer your questions and carry out actions you request.
  • Voice Search — a recording of about 4 seconds, captured through your microphone only after you tap Speak. It is transcribed to text by a speech-to-text service, and the transcript is interpreted by an AI model to find a MipTag code. Audio is deleted immediately after transcription and never stored long-term. You can always type your code instead.

How your data is protected. Data sent to AI providers is used only to generate the response you asked for. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to train AI models. Each provider (OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic) is bound by contractual terms that protect your data in the same or a greater way than this policy, including confidentiality, security safeguards, and limits on using the data for any other purpose. Please do not submit sensitive personal information (passwords, government IDs, or financial account numbers) to AI features.

6. Session Recording & Replay

We do not use session recording, session replay, or any third-party analytics or error-reporting scripts that read your browser storage or session tokens.

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies — to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (including your AI consent choice), and keep your session secure. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, though signing in may stop working if essential cookies are blocked.

8. Sharing With Third Parties

We share data only with service providers required to operate the platform (such as Stripe for payments, our hosting infrastructure, and — only with your consent — the AI providers OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic described in Section 5), and only the minimum needed. We may disclose information if required by law.

9. Data Retention & Deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. Specific retention periods:

  • Voice search audio — processed in real time, deleted immediately after transcription, never stored.
  • MipTag content — retained while your account is active; removed when you delete your MipTag or account.
  • Engagement data (scans, visits) — retained for the life of the MipTag so owners can view analytics history.
  • Payment records — retained for 7 years as required for tax and legal compliance.
  • Account information — removed when you delete your account via portal settings or the Delete Account page.

You can delete your account at any time from your portal settings or at miptags.com/delete-account, which removes your personal information from the platform. Some records (such as payment history) may be retained where required by law.

10. Your Rights

You may access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time through your account, or by contacting us. You can withdraw AI consent at any time in your portal. Where applicable law grants additional rights (such as data portability or objection to processing), we honor those requests.

11. Children's Privacy

MipTags is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
